The IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician 2 Exam certifies the holder possesses formal training and hands-on experience that provide a solid foundation in traffic signal technology. The exam demonstrates the technician’s extensive training in evaluating traffic signal control systems, troubleshooting and performing on-site repairs, preventive maintenance techniques and testing equipment. The following topics are covered in the exam:

• programming and replacement of signal equipment
• traffic signal troubleshooting
• traffic signal standards
• signal operation phasing, timing and detection
• installation and testing
• documentation and asset management practices

Regardless of whether they work for a private company or a government organization, those who hold this certification are ready to contribute significantly to the upkeep and repair of signalized intersections.

Target Audience:

Individuals who participate in all aspects of Traffic Signal specialties.

Prerequisites:

• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician I
• IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician or IMSA approved Work Zone equivalent
• 2 years of traffic operations experience

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Prior to registering for classes, attendees are required to have an IMSA Membership ID number. Visit www.imsasafety.org for more information on becoming a member. All certification exams will be located on the attendee’s login profile. Therefore, requiring them to access their IMSA account on www.imsasafety.org. Attendees shall verify their account login prior to the class. It is recommended that they bring a laptop or tablet to access the exam at the training facility, otherwise, they will have until 11:59 pm on day 2 of the course to complete their exam. There will be public Wi-Fi available at all facilities.

PAYMENT OF FEES

NO SHOW AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Students who do not keep their appointments or provide in writing a notice of cancellation less than 14 days prior to the first day of class will be subject to: NO REFUND or CREDIT OFFERED.

REGISTRATION CLOSE DATE
Registration close date indicates that we no longer accept registrations; submissions received after registration close date will be placed on our cancellations list. There is no guarantee that you will be called to attend the class if that is the case.

AUDIT ONLY
Registration for Audit Only is for the purpose of renewal only. This registration does not include the certification exam or IMSA International renewal fees.
